The Armenian eternity sign, or Arevakhach, is an ancient symbol which has come to represent the national identity of the Armenian people. In medieval Armenian culture, the eternity sign symbolized the concept of everlasting, celestial life.
My own Armenian lineage inspired me to create this pendant to honor the Armenian people, our ancient culture, and our reverence for life and the divine spirit.
The pendant was originally hand carved in wax, then cast in an alloy called ancient bronze. The color of bronze will deepen with time and wear, turning a rich coppery brown, but its sparkle and shine can be brought out with a polishing cloth for jewelry.
The pendant measures about 1" in diameter and comes on an 18" Argentium chain with a hand forged hook and ring clasp.
