Garnet and Moonstone Rose Drop Earrings
A petite six-petaled rose frames a deep red garnet in these delicate earrings, finished off with ethereal moonstone teardrops. The bold contrast of the red and white stones really makes a statement, while the overall design is subtle and elegant.
Our garnet and moonstone rose drops are hand forged from Argentium silver, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver that is 100% recycled. The garnets are certified American Mined™ Idaho garnets, with a traceable pedigree from from mine to market. In tune with the culture of ethical practices and sustainable sourcing, our goal by 2025 is to feature 100% traceable gemstones that provide robust economic foundations for the communities in which they are mined and cut.
The earrings measure about 1-1/2" long and 1/2" wide, and hang from our house-made Argentium ear wires.
Garnet is the traditional birthstone for the month of January, as well as for the astrological sign of Capricorn. It is also the gemstone associated with the 2nd wedding anniversary. The Garnet is associated with Hestia, Greek goddess of home and hearth, and Persephone, Greek goddess of the Underworld. It represents the primordial fire, the creation of the world out of chaos, purification and love. It is a stone of strong, intense feelings. Greek mythology speaks of Garnet as a stone that can, through divine influence, heal emotional rifts between lovers.
Moonstone is one of the birthstones of June and the astrological sign of Cancer. It brings hope, enhances feminine energies, sensitivity, intuition, and psychic abilities. It is also said to bring strong currents of abundance to one's life. Moonstone is a stone of protection, especially during childbirth, pregnancy, and travel at sea. It is a stone of calm and relief from emotional stress, and is also associated with love of all kinds.
