"Reap the Patriachy" Sickle Pendant

$135.00

Bring in the harvest! Out with the old! It’s long past time to reap this patriarchy…with a vengeance.

Often associated with goddesses of the harvest such as Ceres or Demeter, the sickle is also seen with goddesses of death and destruction, such as Durga, Morana, and Santa Muerte. Like any magic, the sickle can be used to bring nourishment and abundance, or to cut away the old, decaying and dead...that which no longer serves us.

Our Sickle Pendant is truly unique, cast in small batches and in limited quantity. The pendant is fabricated in two separate metals, Argentium for the blade and ancient bronze for the handle, a potent talisman for the times. The blade edge is finely polished but not actually sharp, you can safely run your finger along it. The bronze handle is sculpted to look like weathered wood, as you'd expect a beloved, well worn tool to appear.

The pendant comes with an 18" Argentium chain with a hand forged hook and ring clasp.

Did you know the difference between a sickle and a scythe? A sickle is the handheld harvesting tool for small crops. The scythe is a two handed, long handled harvest tool for tall crops.
