Our Jewelry

At Forge & Fountain our use of ancient and modern techniques as well as the highest quality materials sets our work—and your jewelry—apart. We seek excellence in every piece with our combined experience of over 30 years in fine art and jewelry design. As members of Ethical Metalsmiths, we believe in making our award winning jewelry from responsibly-sourced and carefully selected Argentium silver, fairmined gold, and natural gemstones. Each piece is sketched, shaped and styled by hand, leaving no two pieces exactly the same.

Our Techniques

We fabricate every element of our handmade jewelry. This includes pouring our own ingots, forging out wire and sheet, fusing delicate accents together, and setting stones. We also incorporate our own finely carved and cast elements into select rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. The joining of these elements creates an alchemical marriage of esthetics our pieces are known for.

Joshua   |   The Forge

Joshua is an accomplished jeweler and blacksmith from a diverse family of Berkeley artisans and innovators. His love of the forge led him to silversmithing and fine jewelry design, which he first studied at the College of Marin under Michael Chaillé. At the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, Joshua fell in love with Argentium® Silver as his primary smithing medium and has since focused his work on Argentium and gemstone compositions. After over a decade of bench experience as a production and fine jewelry artist, Joshua was offered a position in 2016 as Jewelry and Metalsmithing instructor at College of Marin in Kentfield, CA where he currently teaches.

Holly + Joshua of Forge and Fountain

Holly   |   The Fountain

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Holly is our prolific jewelry designer, fine artist, and writer. Holly has had a passion for the arts since she was old enough to hold a crayon, and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the California College of Arts & Crafts (now CCA) in 1996, with a focus on painting and printmaking. At CCA she also developed her love of art history and classical painting. In addition to detailed jewelry design, Holly’s art career has included interior decorative painting and murals, graphic design, textile design, and illustration. Hers is the hand that sketches, carves, and fine-tunes many of our custom rings and statement pieces.
